Join us for a seven-day study tour in Xi’an, where you’ll experience a cultural feast that brings you face to face with history! The main theme revolves around the evolution of Chinese dynasties, with the sub-theme focusing on ancient traditional timekeeping methods—specifically, the Twelve Earthly Branches. We will guide you through 5,000 years of Chinese civilization, exploring the brilliance and uniqueness of each era.
At the opening ceremony, you will receive a seven-day challenge card to embark on this journey filled with exploration and discovery. Each day, we will visit different historical sites to gain insights into the Neolithic civilization and the spark of fire; the remarkable achievements of the Qin Dynasty and the mysteries of the Terracotta Army; the prosperity and cultural fusion of the Tang Dynasty; the brilliance and charm of shadow puppetry in the Ming Dynasty; as well as modern cave dwellings and the inheritance of folk arts.
Through hands-on experiences such as “Fire by Friction,” “DIY Terracotta Warriors,” “Hanfu Styling,” and “Shadow Puppet Making,” you will not only acquire knowledge but also feel the pulse of history in practice. Finally, you will showcase your talents on the Xi’an City Wall, sharing unforgettable memories and insights from this journey.

子时 (23:00-1:00): The Spark Ignites, Civilization Rises
Attraction: Banpo Museum
Corresponding Era: Neolithic Period
During the “子时” , we will arrive at the Banpo Museum to explore the origins of Neolithic civilization. Through the “Fire by Friction” activity, students will experience how ancient people ignited fire, symbolizing the dawn of human civilization and illuminating the path to the future.
卯时-辰时 (3:00-5:00): Gears Turn, History Moves Forward
Attraction: Terracotta Army of Qin Shi Huang
Corresponding Dynasty: Qin Dynasty
Next, we will step into the “卯时-辰时” period and visit the world-renowned Terracotta Army of Qin Shi Huang. Through the “DIY Terracotta Warrior” activity, students will craft their own warriors, learning about the great history of the Qin Dynasty and the ambitions of Qin Shi Huang while feeling the weight of a millennium of history.
巳时–未时 (9:00-15:00): Poetry in the Air, Art Flourishes
Attractions: Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Bell Tower, Drum Tower, Huimin Street, Yisushe Cultural Block, Datang Everbright City, Huaqing Palace

In the “巳时-未时” period, we will explore the culture of the flourishing Tang Dynasty, visiting the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Bell Tower, Drum Tower, Huimin Street, Yisushe Cultural Block, Datang Everbright City, and Huaqing Palace. Through the “Hanfu Styling: Experience a Day in Chang’an” activity, students will immerse themselves in the beauty and cultural depth of the Tang Dynasty.
申时 (15:00-17:00): Maritime Trade Flourishes, Culture Thrives
Attraction: Daming Palace National Heritage Park
Corresponding Dynasty: Ming Dynasty
In the “申时,” we will enter the Daming Palace National Heritage Park to learn about the glorious history of the Ming Dynasty. Here, students will participate in the “DIY Shadow Puppet and Qin Opera” activity, creating shadow puppets and enjoying a performance of Qin Opera, experiencing the unique charm of Ming culture.
酉时– 戌时(17:00-21:00):Seek to Ascend, Life Transforms
Attractions: Yuanjia Village Cave Dwellings, Whale Valley Bamboo Sea Scenic Area
Corresponding Era: Modern Era
In the “酉时- 戌时”we will explore the Yuanjia Village cave dwellings, experiencing authentic folk culture. Through the “Explore Cave Dwellings and Paint Face Masks” activity, students will learn about the history and lifestyle associated with cave dwellings, creating locally inspired face masks and appreciating the charm of folk art. We will then head to the Whale Valley Bamboo Sea Scenic Area to experience the perfect blend of nature and modernity. Students will participate in the “Making Bamboo Rice and Herbal Pouches” project, learning about traditional medicine and bamboo utilization, while embracing the beauty of nature.
亥时 (21:00-23:00): As Night Falls, Civilization Continues
Attraction: Xi’an City Wall
The final stop of the study tour will be a talent showcase on the Xi’an City Wall. Students will demonstrate the skills and knowledge they acquired throughout the program, sharing their historical explorations and cultural experiences, leaving with unforgettable memories. As a day in Chang’an comes to an end, the wheels of civilization continue to turn, and at dawn, a new civilization awaits your pen to write…
